Champion
Hill Sale Sunshine, big crowd and a great set of summer and fall 2009 show prospect heifers met strong demand in rapid bidding. The auction was dedicated to the Champion Hill Foundation Georgina cow LLL Georgina 419 whose three daughters sired by Leachman Saugahatchee sold for $47,500.00, $42,000.00 and $7,500.00 respectively. The first 17 lots were direct descendents of LLL Georgina 419 and they were a most impressive set of heifers as many of them certainly will find their way to the winners circle. Some folks think they can’t afford a competitive Champion Hill heifer. No doubt, many of them sell at a real premium, but many also sell at very reasonable prices. The 2009 National Junior Angus Show Res. Grand Champion Heifer was a Bismarck heifer purchased at Champion for $4,750.00. She will be shown again this year as a cow/calf pair and her heifer calf will be very competitive in the Bred and Owned Division.

E6
Beefmaster Replacement Female Sale The
Mid-Atlantic Beefmaster Marketing Group is sponsoring an
E6 Beefmaster auction in conjunction with the Georgia
Beef Expo and Georgia Cattlemen’s Convention on April 2,
2010. The auction will begin at approximately 5:00 pm
immediately after the Expo Commercial Heifer Sale. 75
female lots have been consigned with approximately 25
cow/calf pairs, 25 bred heifers and 25 open heifers. The
cattle will be consigned from Beefmaster purebred and
commercial breeders from Georgia, Alabama and South
Carolina. The definition of E6 is an animal sired by a
purebred Beefmaster bull and out of a non-Beefmaster
cow. (Also, an E6 can be out of a purebred Beefmaster
cow and sired by a bull of another breed). Many of the
cattle in this auction will actually be purebred
Beefmasters carrying E6 papers. The reason being, as
this is the first auction, we had to resort to purebreds
to get enough numbers for the auction. The cattle have
been screened on the farm and you will find the cattle
to be of excellent quality. We expect to grow this
auction into a true E6 event in the future. We welcome
you to the auction to bid on the cattle and would like
to meet potential consignors for the future. For a
catalog, contact Sale Manager Mike Jones 706-884-6592 or
order a catalog through this web site. |

Nine inches of snow may not mean much to many folks across the country, but considering it snows in Sumter, South Carolina about once in every 5 to 10 years, it’s a big deal. The weather broke during the night and most roads were clear by mid-morning. Despite a smaller than usual crowd, the auction was solid with especially strong bidding on the females. The prices were strong with the spring open heifers selling mostly in the $3,000 to $6,000 range while the spring calving bred cows were again really strong in the $2,000 to $4,000 range. Going to Whitestone is like going to a party where the atmosphere, hospitality and cattle are second to none. Mark, George and all the crew at Whitestone are to be commended for an excellent display of Angus genetics. 95
